Land Rover Rebuilt Transmission Dallas, Texas
The vehicle did not move in forward or reverse. Our customer found us online, and after discussing the symptoms and where he was, we towed the Land Rover in free of charge. We then performed some tests to confirm whether the problem was inside the transmission or outside causing the problem. Many times something outside the transmission can cause a problem. So it is essential to eliminate all the external factors before pulling a transmission out.
In this case, we determined that the problem was inside the transmission, so we pulled it out with the customer’s consent to determine the number of parts that were going to be needed to rebuild this transmission. Then we were able to build an estimate to rebuild the transmission with several warranty options. Our customer decided to go with the 12-month warranty option.
Unlike many other shops including the dealership, we can rebuild the transmissions right here on site. Many other shops have to purchase a transmission from somewhere else. The dealer replaces them with a remanufactured transmission. This is where we can save you a lot of money. In this case, the transmission did not have any hard part damage. We installed a master rebuild kit which includes all the gaskets, friction clutch plates, steel clutch plates, lip seals, and o-rings. It needed a bushing kit, case connector, torque converter, and new transmission fluid.
We thoroughly flushed the transmission lines and cooler out with our hot flush machine. This is another important part that some shops skip. Many contaminates can be trapped in the cooler which can restrict cooler flow and cause premature damage to the transmission. After cleaning and rebuilding the transmission, it was installed back in the Land Rover, Range Rover Sport Supercharged.
We completed the job by filling it with new fluid then road testing the vehicle to ensure it was operating as good as new.
